MSc in Communication Studies from the University of Twente, graduated with honors (cum laude). Majored in Marketing Communication with a minor in Computer Science.

I'm a marketer with a research background, but technology is my passion. Prior to getting my MSc in communication studies I endeavored to become an electrical engineer and a computer scientist, but neither study included the social elements I craved in my education. Now I have the best of both worlds.
My niche is the overlap between these two worlds, the point where technology and marketing meets. Combining my education in marketing with my love of technology, I have a natural disposition for online and social media marketing. My ability to see the business perspective, yet understand programming and design aspects, makes me the perfect link between coders, creatives and management. I'm a marketing jack-of-all-trades that can be deployed anywhere.
Help the start-ups this venture capital firm has invested in with strategy and execution of social media, on all applicable fronts (marketing, customer service, recruitment, etc).
Currently working with these two start-ups in particular:

* RingCredible
SoSocio is a Facebook app that creates digital photo albums of the pictures on your Facebook account, including the comments that your friends have left. If you like you can also have these albums printed and shipped right to your door.
RingCredible is a smartphone VoIP app that lets you make cheap international phone calls - on average 80% cheaper than your provider and 60% cheaper than Skype's rates - to anywhere in the world.
One of the first employees at the new social media division of this full-service advertising agency, part of DDB Worldwide. Worked with large clients, such as the ABN AMRO national bank, to help them make effective use of social media. Set up monitoring/engagement tools, wrote employee and webcare guidelines, analysed and reported on monitoring data and provided workshops and training sessions. Developed social media elements in support of advertising campaigns and internal projects created at ETCETERA, including award-winning work such as the Bol.com ‘mummy suit’ viral and the Delete2009 project.
Left to return to university and get my MSc degree.
Developed marketing plans for beginning entrepreneurs, often using existing social media networks to push into the market. If needed also performed related tasks, such as developing websites, corporate identities or photo materials.
Oversaw financial policy, audited the books and supported the treasurers of AEGEE-Enschede in performing their duties.
Supported the lead strategists by coordinating their name development projects, e.g. updating clients on project status, contacting research companies, consolidating research results, supervising brainstorms with freelancers, etc.
During my internship at this branding agency in the Netherlands, I evaluated the company's current situation and helped develop a new positioning and identity to set it apart from its competitors. Using this new identity as a guide I created a base for future marketing and communication activities.
Treasurer of the largest students' association in Enschede during a full-time board year. Principal responsible for all financial matters concerning the association, from financial policy down to committee level budgets. Gained experience managing people as board liaison for several committees. Member of the audit committees of two conference foundations and an Erasmus (international student mobility) foundation. Involved in the financial organization of "Spring Agora 2005", a students conference with 800 participants, and "Media Minded", a students conference with 65 participants.
